The Harrison Rye game is recognized as one of the biggest rivalries in the country. These two towns have been battling it out for bragging rights for over 80 years.  Let’s face it when growing up in these small communities there isn’t a lot of love shared from both towns  and come October when the game is on, the towns close up, former alumni fly in to see their teams go to battle.

On October 11th the classes of 88, 87 and 86 from Harrison and Rye will take the field again for a cause much bigger than any game. We are looking to raise money for Charley’s Fund, a charitable organization founded by Benjy “88” and Tracy Seckler to help find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in which there son Charley and thousands of other children are affected.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children around the world. Children with DMD cannot produce dystrophin, a protein necessary for muscle strength and function. As a result, every skeletal muscle in the body deteriorates.  Although Duchenne is the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children, there is no cure.

So please write a check today to Charley’s Fund ( $100, $1,000, $10,000 ) and mail it to the address above, we can help the Seckler’s in this fight to find a cure for this disease.  Also please pass this website/email on to 5 people that can donate to Charley’s Fund.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Sal & Roseann Giglio for pulling together the Rye team and there help in coordinating this event. Roseann “87” was a former majorette at Harrison who married a Rye football player. Roe who are you rooting for?
